The reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the 15th that in February, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in my country were 368,000 and 334,000 respectively, an increase of 2.0 times and 1.8 times year-on-year respectively, and the market penetration rate was 19.2%. The new energy vehicle industry is developing rapidly.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in February, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles increased by 1.7 times and 1.6 times year-on-year, respectively, and the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles increased by 4.1 times and 3.4 times year-on-year, respectively. From January to February, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 820,000 and 765,000 respectively, an increase of 1.6 times and 1.5 times year-on-year respectively, and the market penetration rate was 17.9%.

The market potential has been continuously released, and the supporting capacity of the industrial chain has been further improved. According to Tianyancha data, there are more than 9,500 power battery-related companies in my country, of which more than 1,100 will be newly registered in 2021.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that it will intensify efforts to enhance the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain. Focusing on meeting production needs such as power batteries, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will work with relevant departments to resolutely crack down on unfair competition such as hoarding and price gouging, and at the same time further improve power battery safety, low temperature adaptation and other performance, and continue to improve the product quality and driving experience of new energy vehicles.
